Q: What is the $200 non-refundable fee?
A: The deposit on the puppy.
It goes for the shots, food, docking, dew claws, de-worming, litter registrations, and vet check ups.
Q: When do I need to have the contract signed and returned to you?
A: Before you can have your yorkie baby we must have the contract signed (by the age of 8 weeks) you and I both will have a copy of this contract. I will not let the yorkie go to it's new home not until I have the signed contract with me.
Q: If shipping out yorkie when does the full amount of the yorkie have to be paid?
A: 10 to 14 days before shipping out.
Q: Do you ship out everyday?
A: No we live away from airports so we only do that on days that my husband is off of work. If you live a hour or two away we can meet somewhere in the middle to pick up puppy. Also airports will not ship your yorkie if temperatures are below 30 F or above 90 F. So please be patient; it is all worth it!
Q:When can we get our yorkie baby?
A: They can move out and in with you around 10-12 weeks of age. We got to make sure the pup is in good health and ready to say bye to mommy, daddy, and sisters and brothers. Also if the yorkie is not paid in full by the time the yorkie is ready to leave I have the right to place the yorkie back up for adoption. It is not fair to us or the yorkie to become emotionally attached to one another. The yorkie must be paid for in full by the time it reaches 8 weeks of age. I must have the contract signed before you get your yorkie baby. If you do not pick up you yorkie on the date as stated a $5.00 per day boarding fee will be charged; unless prior mutual agreement is made.
Q: How much do puppy's range in cost?
A: Females are more than males. All together $500-$1,000. This depends on size, back ground history, sex of the yorkie, age, etc. Remember we only ship out to the USA if shipping add an extra $290 will be added to price. Also when you use paypal add 3% to your price (per transaction).
Q: When is the best time to put a deposit on a puppy?
A: As soon as they are born! If you are on Southeast Tennessee Yorkie Adoptions email list I will email you and let you know when they are born (also when some are due). Before any payments are made please contact me before hand for we can talk about the yorkie baby you would like to adopt. Also no puppy will be held without deposit.
Q: Can I make a deposit on one before they are born?
A: This will be a for sure fire way of getting a yorkie at some point in time. I can not tell you for sure if the pregnancy will even take, how many they will have. You might have to want a month, 6 months, or even a year. However if you do decide to do it this way same rules apply as any other way. No refunds, must sign contract (please keep your copy in a safe place). I can not tell you for sure when you might have your pup but when one gets born and is the sex you are asking for you are #1 to have that pup. This is up to you. If you do decide to pre-pay deposit please email me often for I can keep you up to date. I do prefer at time of birth for deposit; however I have done this once myself.
Q: Do you provide stud services?
A: Sorry but no. I keep all my yorkies the best possible health. I would be to afraid to even try it. I know the back ground and health on all my yorkies. I like to keep them healthy and this is just one way I feel is best for my babies.
Q: What all comes with my yorkie? A: You get a six month guarantee on health on your yorkie against genetic defects (see contract), a puppy welcome kit, up to date on shots, worming, etc., health record.
Q: What all does the extra $290.00 for shipping include?
A: The airline approved crate ( $35.00 that you get to keep), a baby blankie w/mother's scent to help w/travel, I also give the puppies something natural right before they leave (at the house 2 to 4 hours before getting in the car to make a one hour car ride and then once more before boarding plane. I know the stuff is safe I have used many times on my own Yorkies and have recommended it plenty of times; if you choose not to use this it is (OK does not affect in price if you do or do not) to help try to reduce stress, $55.00 health certificate (must have in order to fly) airline fees are right there at $200.00 (depending on where you ship to).
Q: When I pick my Yorkie up at airport what do I need? A: I will give you an air bill number (make sure you have this with you) I will email or call you with it also with the flight times and numbers. Also you will need your driver's license, or other form of picture ID to claim your new Yorkie baby. Also you Yorkie baby may get sick on the way make sure to bring diaper wipes with you to clean anything up. Bring bottle water cause they did not get much to eat and drink on the way (bowls are small in the cages). Also maybe a leash and collar/harness for trip home.
Q: What if I do not adopt a yorkie when they are first born when will I be able to get it?
A: You can still do a deposit. If the pup has reached over the age of 12 weeks and not adopted (or a older yorkie) then we will allow 3 weeks of your deposit. And rules are the same as above. They are so easy to get attached to.
Q: Why do you ask questions about us?
A: I do not wont my yorkie babies to go just to anywhere. I will like to make sure they are not going to be missed treated in anyway. I do not like puppy mills this is why I do not over breed my yorkies. I keep all of them in the best health that I can. We love them and play with them everyday. I like to make sure this goes on to the next home. So yes if I think you can not care or use this yorkie in a puppy mill I will not let you adopt one of our yorkies.
Q: Why are back yard breeders cheaper than a kennel or good breeder on adoptions for?
A: Most of them use some form of inbreeding (which is ok if you know what you are doing but some maybe to much. This happen to a close family member {differ breed not a yorkie} and she really has problems). Also they do not study the breed or know just a little about it. Some may over breed so adults and pups are not or not as healthy. The also may not come with any guarantee or may not be up to date on shots. They do not DNA test. Most leave home to early (6-8 wks old). The list goes on from there. Puppy mills are worse. Reason a good breeder cost more is one reason and one reason only they put more into the adults and babies. More money and time. They love breed. They spend more money on them so they may cost a little more than from a puppy mill or back yard breeder. They are behind their word. So next time you see a cheap yorkie in a local paper or something like that, more likely a backyard breeder. They are also not really sure all about history on the breeding dogs they have. All of this is just the start.
You are not going to get your money worth. May even loose it. If you buy from a back yard breeder you are supporting these habits. Just because you think you are saving money you are not in the long run. Please help stop backyard breeders and puppy mills. Use a good breeders!
Q: Do you ever have small or smaller Yorkshire Terriers?
A: As I have stated before all yorkies are small. In all litters or almost every litter there will be smaller ones than the others. However no mater what some others may tell you about smaller yorkies; no one can tell you for sure if they will stay that small. Sometimes they can end up bigger than the others when they are fully grown (not always but sometimes). For this reason no mater where you go to get a yorkie no one will guarantee the size of your yorkie for you. Also the smaller ones will come without breeding right for their health sake. Any breeder that is a good breeder and breeding for that right reasons and loves their Yorkies and the pups they have will not do this. Now if the female is of breeding size that is up to the breeder to sale the breeding rights but is they are under the breeding size they will not sale (unless they know you really good or something).
Q: Do you do DNA testing?
A: Yes! I test females and males. If you breed a male you have to do DNA testing anyways (required). We use BioPet Vet Lab. They are located in Knoxville,TN. SI have more proof that all my Yorkshire terriers are purebreds. Yes if you would like to see the DNA results and the registration certificates on my yorkies I will be more than happy to show you. Q: Why do you have to do DNA test?
A: To prove purebred background history, genetic defects, potential health risks, personality, and more.
